Around 700, undergraduate and postgraduate students were awarded degrees at the Annual Convocation which was held today at DAV College Chandigarh. Professor Rita Jain Principal, DAV College, and Registrar, Dr. Kiran Hooda, welcomed the worthy Chief Guest of the event, Madam Kanwardeep Kaur (IPS), SSP, Chandigarh. The function started at 3:00 pm with a lamp lighting ceremony, followed by college prayer in the Main Auditorium of the college. Principal, Professor Rita Jain, welcomed the guests, teachers and all the students. She congratulated the students for achieving a milestone in their life and extended best wishes for the future endeavors. More than 700 students were conferred degrees by Madam Kanwardeep Kaur, in which around 203 students from M.Sc., 131 from B.Sc., 33 from BCA, 89 from M. Com., 139 from B. Com., 44 from BBA, 144 from MA, 110 from BA, 60 from B. Voc. and 20 from BA B.Ed., received their degrees. She also congratulated the students, motivated them to bring out best from the smallest opportunities and wished them for a brighter future ahead. She advised them to inculcate values and ethics and contribute towards the development and prosperity of the nation. The function concluded with a vote of thanks by the Staff Secretary, Dr. Shivani Bedi, which was followed by the National Anthem.
