“If you can speak, you can influence. If you can influence, you can change lives”
Literati, the Literary and Debating society of DAV College, has fostered the spirit of intellect, expression and fraternity to groom its comrade into trailblazers of tomorrow. The encouragement from the Principal, leadership of the faculty and the vigour of the students have seamlessly orchestrated what is now a ‘cerebral cult’.
Having marshalled numerous competitions and making strides in the realms of public speaking, story-writing, poetry recitations and quizzes, Literati believes in the wisdom of Shakespeare- “All the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely players”.
“We don’t read and write poetry because it’s cute.
We read and write poetry because
we’re members of the human race.
And the human race is filled with passion.
Medicine, law, business, engineering,
these are noble pursuits
and necessary to sustain life.
But poetry, beauty, romance, love-
these are what we stay alive for.”
Robin Williams, in Dead Poets’ Society, has somehow managed to capture the quintessence on which we, as a society, strive to operate on.
Here’s a sneak peek into how our society has crusaded over the years. We look forward to having your name adorning our subsequent records.
